Cruising for Tech
The major philanthropic focus of 7SKO is the ‘Cruising for Tech’ program. The program provides no/low cost training and certification exams to young adults in underserved communities preparing them for entry-level jobs in the field of Information Technology. A major focus is to empower young women with skills needed for professional achievement.
Armed with usable education and post support in job search and work skills, the program intends to assert a sense of career direction and hope for their future. Students will also receive boot camp style training to prepare them for globally recognized industry certification exams.
Students holding certificates will have a demonstrable documented skill providing hiring managers guaranties of the base level of skills of the applicant.
-
Students are selected based on their demonstrated drive and aptitude for learning technical concepts. A base level of education, aptitude and financial need is required.
-
Selected countries and locations need to meet basic infrastructure requirements, including space and power. In addition, governmental regulations and safety review are required for each site.
-
The program is customized to the needs of the area, location, topics needed and the makeup of the student body.
-
The curriculum is divided into multiple technology tracks with tracks running from 5 days to 10 days.
-
Majority of our material is web based but depending on the availability of classrooms and equipment, local client server setups may be used as well.
