About the Founders

Raj and Mo (Maureen) have been journeying the world together for over 40 years. As children of immigrants, they've worked hard as Information Technology professionals, raised two great children and now want to do some things that are fun, and give back to this wonderful world. Their new venture is 7 Seas Kahani Odyssey (7SKO) - a 501c3 non-profit (applied for) dedicated to technical education in underserved communities of the world. Read more about this in the Kahani mission, Cruising for Tech, and Adventure.

But life throws challenges at all of  us. In 2013 Raj was diagnosed with a rare, progressive form of muscular dystrophy called IBM (Inclusion Body Myositis). It's not fatal, and there is no cure, but it has sure changed our approach to life. As part of travels, we hope to educate doctors on diagnosing this often misdiagnosed disease. Read more about that in Living with Challenges in Cruising for Myositis.

Why are we interested in different cultural stories? What's with the name Kahani? Kahani means story in Hindi. When our children were young we'd make up epic bedtime stories that often lasted many weeks to finish. We'd usually fall asleep while they demanded the next chapter. Now we love to travel and hear and document others life stories and adventures. Read more about  Kahani and in our FAQ!

For now, we are letting go of unimportant stuff.  We are selling our home, taking lots of lessons and getting out on the road, planes and sea. Follow along in our education journeys,  our Kahani's, and we hope to hear from you.
